1.2 A non-refundable deposit of AUD $750 per person is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.

1.3 If a booking is made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

1.4 All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by Remarkable East.

1.5 Remarkable East reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.

2 - Payment Terms

2.1 Full payment must be received no later than 60 days prior to departure unless otherwise specified.

2.2 Certain departures, special interest tours, cruises or custom arrangements may require final payment 90 days prior to departure. Where this applies, the payment deadline will be clearly stated in your itinerary, proposal or booking confirmation.

2.3 Final itineraries, travel documentation and departure information may not be released until all payments have been received in full.

2.4 Payments may be made by EFT, credit card or other approved payment methods.

2.5 Payment of the balance by credit card for manually processed payments attracts a surcharge of 1.8% for Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

2.6 Bank transfer payments are available for direct bookings arranged with the Remarkable East team and are not available for website payment plans.

2.7 Where a traveller selects a payment plan through the Remarkable East website, all scheduled payments must be made using the payment method provided during checkout and cannot be substituted with bank transfer payments unless agreed in writing by Remarkable East.

2.8 Failure to make payments by the required due dates may result in cancellation of the booking and the application of cancellation fees.

3 - Website Bookings and Payment Plans

3.1 Guests booking through the Remarkable East website may have the option to secure their place with a deposit and pay the remaining balance through an automated payment plan.

3.2 By selecting a payment plan, you authorise Remarkable East and its payment providers to automatically charge the payment method provided according to the payment schedule displayed at checkout.

3.3 The payment schedule displayed during checkout forms part of the booking agreement.

3.4 Travellers are responsible for ensuring the nominated payment method remains valid and has sufficient funds available for all scheduled payments.

3.5 If a scheduled payment cannot be processed for any reason, the traveller remains responsible for ensuring payment is received by the applicable due date.

3.6 Website payment plans are only available through the payment methods supported during checkout. Bank transfer payments cannot be used to satisfy scheduled instalments unless expressly approved by Remarkable East.

3.7 Remarkable East reserves the right to withhold travel documentation, suspend services or cancel a booking where payments remain outstanding.

3.8 Full payment must be received no later than 60 days prior to departure unless otherwise specified.

3.9 Website bookings are provisionally accepted upon receipt of payment and remain subject to final review by Remarkable East.

3.10 Following an online booking, Remarkable East will contact the traveller to confirm booking details and provide any additional documentation required to complete the booking process.

4 - Traveller Information and Documentation

4.1 Following confirmation of a booking, travellers may be required to complete a Traveller Declaration Form.

4.2 The Traveller Declaration Form may request information including, but not limited to:

  • Passport details

  • Nationality and date of birth

  • Emergency contact information

  • Travel insurance details

  • Medical conditions

  • Dietary requirements

  • Rooming preferences

  • Any other information reasonably required for the operation of the tour

4.3 Travellers are responsible for ensuring all information supplied is accurate, complete and submitted within the timeframes requested by Remarkable East.

4.4 Where requested, travellers must provide copies of passports, travel insurance documentation and any other supporting documentation reasonably required by Remarkable East.

4.5 Failure to provide requested information may affect the traveller's ability to participate in the tour and may result in delays to travel arrangements, ticketing, accommodation allocations or other services.

4.6 Final travel documentation may not be issued until all required traveller information and outstanding payments have been received.

5 - Departure Guarantee and Group Numbers

5.1 All Remarkable East tours are subject to a minimum of four passengers travelling on the departure. If this minimum number is not reached, Remarkable East reserves the right to cancel the tour.

5.2 Remarkable East will advise travellers of the status of a departure no later than 65 days prior to the scheduled departure date.

5.3 If a departure is cancelled due to insufficient passenger numbers, travellers may choose one of the following options:

a) Transfer their booking to another confirmed departure;
b) Receive a full refund of all monies paid directly to Remarkable East; or
c) Receive a credit towards a future Remarkable East tour.

5.4 If a departure is cancelled and a traveller is the sole twin-share passenger booked on that departure, and wishes to travel on the original dates rather than accept an alternative departure, refund or credit, Remarkable East will endeavour to offer the same itinerary as a private tour.

5.5 Any additional cost associated with operating the itinerary as a private tour will be advised to the traveller and may be accepted or declined at their discretion.

5.6 Certain group tour inclusions, including gratuities and other services that are only practicable in a group setting, may not be included in a private tour arrangement. Any such changes will be clearly communicated before alternative arrangements are confirmed.

5.7 Remarkable East shall not be liable for any loss, cost, expense or inconvenience arising from the cancellation of a tour, including but not limited to flights, accommodation, visas, travel insurance, transfers or any other travel arrangements booked independently of the tour.

6 - Cancellation by Traveller

6.1 All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Remarkable East.

6.2 The effective cancellation date is the date on which written notice is received.

6.3 If cancellation occurs 60 days or more before departure, your liability will be the non-refundable deposit together with any non-refundable flights or supplier costs incurred on your behalf.

6.4 If cancellation occurs between 30 and 60 days prior to departure, your liability will be 50% of the tour price together with any non-refundable flights or supplier costs incurred on your behalf.

6.5 If cancellation occurs less than 30 days prior to departure, your liability will be 100% of the tour price together with any non-refundable flights or supplier costs incurred on your behalf.

12.3 Any substitute arrangements will be of a comparable standard wherever reasonably possible.

13 - Events Beyond Our Control

13.1 Remarkable East is not liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from events beyond its reasonable control.

13.2 Such events may include natural disasters, severe weather, flooding, earthquakes, volcanic activity, bushfires, acts of government, border closures, civil unrest, industrial disputes, epidemics, pandemics, public health emergencies, acts of terrorism, war, transportation disruptions or supplier insolvency.

13.3 Where circumstances beyond our reasonable control affect a departure, Remarkable East reserves the right to amend itineraries, substitute accommodation, transport, guides, activities or other arrangements as reasonably required.

14 - Tour Leaders, Guides and Hosts

14.1 Remarkable East may advertise specific tour leaders, hosts, guides or special guests in connection with a departure.

14.2 Circumstances may occasionally arise which prevent a particular tour leader, host, guide or special guest from participating.

14.3 Remarkable East reserves the right to substitute tour leaders, hosts, guides or special guests with suitably qualified alternatives.

14.4 Such substitutions do not constitute a significant change to the tour and do not entitle travellers to cancel without penalty or claim compensation.

15 - Additional Costs

15.1 Additional expenses arising from delayed, cancelled or rescheduled flights, trains, ferries or other transport services are the responsibility of the traveller.

15.2 This includes accommodation, meals, transport, rebooking fees and other related costs unless otherwise covered by travel insurance or the responsible supplier.

15.3 Travellers are responsible for all personal expenses not specifically included in the itinerary including laundry, telephone calls, drinks, gratuities, personal transportation, camera fees, optional activities and similar expenses.

16.3 In respect of its services, Unbound Travel Group and their agents give the warranties which under the Trade Practices Act or other legislation cannot be excluded, but otherwise does not give any warranty or accept any liability, whether in contract, negligence, or otherwise.

16.4 Unbound Travel Group and their agents do not accept liability in contract, negligence or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss, or delay.

16.5 Unbound Travel Group and their agents do not accept liability or additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any act of god or other events which are beyond the reasonable control of Unbound Travel Group and their agents, including, but not limited to war, civil unrest, natural disasters, acts of god, acts of government or any other authorities, transportation failure or delay.
