Tour Itinerary

  • Upon arrival in Mumbai, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Fariyas Hotel, where we will be staying for the next two nights.

Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is the commercial heart of India - a vibrant and bustling metropolis that seamlessly blends history with modernity. As one of India’s most dynamic cities, it is not only a financial powerhouse but also a thriving hub of theatre, art, music, and dance.

Throughout the city, remnants of the British Raj stand tall, with weathered Victorian mansions, grand public buildings, and colonial-era architecture, some of which remain privately owned. By night, many of these landmarks are beautifully illuminated, offering a glimpse into Mumbai’s storied past.

While deeply rooted in tradition, Mumbai is also a city of relentless progress, where old and new coexist in perfect harmony. From historic markets to gleaming skyscrapers, the city’s phenomenal growth can be seen at every turn.

After checking in, the rest of the day is at leisure, allowing you to rest after your journey or explore the vibrant surroundings at your own pace.

    🛏️ Fariyas Hotel

Fariyas Hotel in Colaba, South Mumbai is just a short stroll away from the iconic Gateway of India and the Prince of Wales Museum, making it easy to explore the city's top attractions or enjoy good grub at artsy cafes. The rooms are clean, feature parquet floors and all the amenities you'd need. The hotel has two restaurants, a bar-lounge, and a refreshing outdoor pool and a sauna and steam room to relax after a day of sightseeing.

  • This morning, we dive into the heart of Mumbai’s daily life with a unique sightseeing experience using the city’s local transport. From the iconic suburban trains to the classic red double-decker buses, and the signature black-and-yellow taxis, we experience Mumbai the way millions of locals do every day.

Our journey takes us through some of Mumbai’s most bustling bazaars and markets, offering a vivid glimpse into the city's vibrant street life. At Chor Bazaar, also known as the “Thieves’ Market,” an endless array of antiques, electronics, and curiosities fill the narrow lanes, creating a whirlwind of activity. At Null Bazaar, the city’s lively fruit, vegetable, fish, and meat market, the colors and aromas provide a sensory overload. We also visit the Dadar Flower Market, where thousands of vendors sell an astonishing variety of fresh flowers, filling the air with their fragrance in a mesmerizing display of colour and texture.

Continuing through the city, we stop at Dhobi Ghat at Mahalaxmi, Mumbai’s largest open-air laundry, where washermen scrub and beat hundreds of sheets from hospitals and hotels in an astonishing display of synchronized labour. At Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (VT Station), one of the busiest railway stations in India, we experience the rush of Mumbai’s commuting culture. At Churchgate Station, we witness the legendary dabbawallahs in action, an incredibly organized network of lunchbox delivery men who collect freshly cooked meals from homes and deliver them with near-perfect accuracy to offices across the city.

In the afternoon, we embark on a guided walking tour of Dharavi, one of Asia’s most well-known neighbourhoods. Though often referred to as the "largest slum in Asia," Dharavi is much more than that - it is a bustling hub of small-scale industries with an estimated annual turnover of $665 million USD. As we meander through the narrow alleys, we visit a recycling centre, where old plastics, computer parts, and metals are repurposed, and a biscuit bakery, where the scent of freshly baked goods fills the air. In Kumbharwada, the historic pottery colony, we observe artisans shaping clay pots using traditional techniques. A visit to a factory rooftop offers a striking view of the endless rows of tin-roofed homes stretching out as far as the eye can see.

Despite its reputation, Dharavi is home to a strong and diverse community, where temples, mosques, and churches stand side by side. As we pass through the residential areas, we gain a deeper understanding of the tight-knit spirit that defines this remarkable neighborhood.

After a full day of exploring Mumbai’s rich contrasts, the evening is free for you to relax or continue discovering the city at your own pace.

  • This morning, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Jodhpur, where we will be met upon arrival and transferred to our hotel.

Known as the "Blue City" due to the striking indigo-painted houses that dominate its old town, Jodhpur was once the capital of the Marwar state and a thriving trade center in the 16th century, thanks to its strategic position along the ancient Silk Route. Perched on the edge of the vast Thar Desert, the city has since expanded into Rajasthan’s second-largest metropolis, all while retaining its medieval charm and grandeur.

Later in the evening, we set out on a guided walking tour to uncover the soul of Jodhpur. As we venture through the city’s winding alleyways and lesser-known corners, we gain insight into its deep-rooted traditions and vibrant culture. Along the way, we visit ancient temples and engage with local priests, learning about the spiritual significance of these sacred spaces. We also discover the importance of stepwells, once vital sources of water and social gathering places, now standing as architectural marvels within the old city.

As we navigate the bustling bazaars and narrow lanes, the energy of Jodhpur comes alive through local interactions and street food tastings. From crispy kachoris to the famous mirchi vada, we sample some of the city’s beloved flavours, immersing ourselves in the rich culinary heritage of Rajasthan.
