After breakfast, we meet our guide in the hotel lobby at 10:00am and set out to discover the many sides of Busan, a city where colourful neighbourhoods, historic markets and dramatic coastal scenery combine to create one of South Korea's most distinctive destinations.

From here, we continue to Jagalchi Fish Market, the largest seafood market in South Korea and an enduring symbol of Busan's maritime heritage. The lively market offers a fascinating glimpse into daily life as local fishmongers prepare an incredible variety of fresh seafood brought ashore from the surrounding waters. We then stroll to nearby Nampodong, one of Busan's oldest commercial districts, where bustling shopping streets, traditional food stalls and modern boutiques sit side by side. Here, there is free time to enjoy lunch at your leisure, with plenty of opportunities to sample local favourites or simply soak up the vibrant atmosphere.

This afternoon, we travel to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, one of the few Buddhist temples in South Korea built along the coastline rather than in the mountains. Perched dramatically on rocky cliffs overlooking the East Sea, the temple has welcomed pilgrims for more than 650 years. As we explore its beautiful pavilions, ornate statues and oceanfront pathways, we are rewarded with spectacular coastal views and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it one of Busan's most treasured landmarks.
